Mae grew up in North Scituate, Rhode Island.  She studied music at Rhode Island College, and worked with children in private lessons and summer camps in Rhode Island and Maine.  After many years of pursuing a career in music, Mae realized that her true passion lies within animal welfare.  She went vegan in January 2013 and started on the path to build a farm animal sanctuary.  That summer she relocated to Tacoma, WA, and in April 2016 she founded Cupid’s Landing.   Mae has worked in animal welfare for several years, both as a volunteer and paid employee.  She was an Adoption Services Representative at the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County from 2014 – 2017.  She specialized in socializing and caring for feral/undersocial cats and kittens.   Mae currently volunteers with One Heart Wild Education Sanctuary in Silverdale, WA where she cares for the non-human residents, assists with field trips as a part of the Animals and Empathy program, and participates in other functions at the sanctuary.   She recently began classes at the University of Washington to study Nonprofit and Fundraising Management.

David has worked in different aspects of manufacturing since 2004: since 2012 as a Coffee Processing Coordinator at Keurig Green Mountain’s Sumner facility and previously as a Master Scheduler for a steel foundry in Seattle. He has been a real estate investor and property manager since 2014 and currently manages rental investments in Tacoma and Tukwila. He earned a BS in Business with a concentration in Management from the University of Phoenix in Tukwila in 2012.

David’s philanthropic work started in childhood when he volunteered at his local public library and with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America.  He has been an active volunteer with the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County since 2013 and with their Community Cats program, which sterilizes and cares for feral cats, since 2014.

David went vegan in 2015, after he learned about the animal cruelty and environmental degradation caused by factory farming.  He became involved with Cupid’s Landing after falling in love with and being inspired by Mae Tipple. Today he serves on the board of Cupid’s Landing, volunteers with other local sanctuary organizations, and is studying diligently about non-profit management and sanctuary operations in preparation for when we arrive at the Landing. He lives in Tacoma with Mae, Cupid, and several other pets of lesser fame.

Anthony Creighton, Chairman

Anthony Profile

Anthony was born and raised in Western Washington where he lived until he decided to travel and live in Denver for 5 years. He studied fitness and nutrition at the National Personal Training Institute in Lakewood, Colorado.  After watching his mother pass away when she was 42 years young, he chose to dedicate his life to helping people become the healthiest versions of themselves through fitness and nutrition. Anthony became vegan when he learned of the horrific conditions of the animals and how much animal products negatively effect our health.  He has been without animal products since 2009, and he says it’s still the best decision he has made. He currently runs a personal training/fitness business called Organically Grown Muscle.  He aspires to open a vegan style gym while helping Cupid’s Landing become a place for everyone to grow and learn about animals and a healthy vegan lifestyle.
